The death has occurred of Marie MURPHY (née Horan), Manchester, UK and formerly of Ballymanus Terrace, Carlow

Maire Murphy (nee Horan) Mannering St, Manchester, UK, and formerly of Ballymanus Terrace, Carlow died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, 29th November2020.

Marie is predeceased by her husband James (Jimmy), sister Cecilia, brothers Paddy, Eamonn, Oliver, Michael, John and recently Gerald.

Marie will be sadly missed by her family, daughters Theresa, Caroline, Son Gerald (Ged), sister Kathleen and Dympha, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, son-in-law Tristan, daughter-in-law Suzanne, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Plymouth Grove, Longsight, Manchester at 1pm on Friday, 11th December.

The death has occurred of Joseph (Doney) CURRAN, Linkardstown Avenue, Tinryland, Carlow

Joseph (Doney) Curran, Linkardstown Avenue, Tinryland and formerly of Ballybar Upper, Tinryland, Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on November 24th, 2020, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved husband of the late Mary, much loved father of John, Martin and Joe and cherished brother of Pat, Eamonn, Anthony, Nancy, Kathleen, Anne and the late Dan, Sean, Anthony and Margaret.

He will be sadly missed by his loving partner Mary and her daughter Jennifer, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law Mary, Caroline and Catherine, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The death has occurred of John FARRELL 21 The Willows, Pollerton and formerly Riverside, Hanover, Carlow Town, Carlow

John Farrell died November 14th 2020 at home. Beloved husband of Martina and much loved father to John and Justine, and adored son of John and Madeline. Sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughter, parents, sisters Paula and Gillian, mother-in-law Patty Fitzgerald, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, former colleagues in Penneys, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

John will now rest gently.

Owing to Government guidelines a private Funeral Mass will be celebrated tomorrow (Monday) morning at 11am in The Church of the Holy Family, Askea followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.


Eileen HENNESSY Brownshill Road, Carlow / Castledermot, Kildare

Eileen Hennessy of ‘Glendarra’, Brownshill Road, Carlow and formerly of The Well, Knocknacree, Castledermot, Co Kildare, passed away, peacefully, on November 14th, 2020, at SignaCare Nursing Home, Killerig, Co Carlow, in her 96th year.

May Eileen’s Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

She will be sadly missed by her loving sisters-in-law Teresa Hennessy and Kathleen O’Rourke, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Due to government advice regarding public gatherings a private funeral will take place for family in The Holy Family Church, Askea, on Tuesday at 11am and will be followed by burial in Grange Cemetery, Carlow.


The death has occurred of Gerald Francis (Ger) HORAN, Wigan, Manchester and formerly of Ballymanus Terrace, Carlow Town, Carlow

Gerald Francis (Ger) Horan, died November 5th 2020 at his home in Wigan.

Predeceased by his sister Cecilia, brothers Paddy, Oliver, Michael, Eamonn and John.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Rose, son David, daughter Sabrina, grand-daughter Alex, sisters Marie, Kathleen and Dympna, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass and burial will take place in Wigan on Thursday, November 12th.

The death has occurred of Mary (Molly) Condron (née Cullen), “Clonuan” Kilmeaney, Carlow Town, Carlow

Mary (Molly), Condron, beloved wife of Paddy, much loved mother of David, Dermot, Deirdre and Anita and adored grandmother of Karl, Grainne, Hugh, Gavin, Kayla, Leah and Conall. Deeply regretted by her husband, sons, daughters, sons in law, Charlie and Gordon, daughters in law, Joanne and Sylvia, grandchildren, sister Peg, special friends Eamonn and Helen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Following HSE guidelines, repose will take place at Burke McDermott Funeral Home, Station Road, Carlow, from 5pm today, Thursday, concluding with prayers at 8pm. Funeral will arrive at Holy Family Church, Askea tomorrow, Friday, for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Bennekerry Churchyard Cemetery.


Francis McCarthy of 80 John Sweeney Park, Tullow Road, Carlow

Francis McCarthy of 80 John Sweeney Park, Tullow Road, Carlow passed away peacefully, on November 3rd, 2020 at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved son of Nora and John and cherished brother of Michael, Patrick, Joseph, James, Mary Ellen, Crystal, Gabrielle and the late Kathleen Marie.

He will be sadly missed by his loving parents, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
