The death has occurred of Marita CONRY (née Casey), “Avila”, Chapelstown, Carlow Town, Carlow / Mohill, Leitrim

Marita Conry, “Avila”, Chapelstown, Carlow and formerly of Mohill, Co. Leitrim, died October 23rd 2020 (peacefully) at home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Philip and Catherine and by her brother Brendan. Beloved wife of Michael J. (Míceál) and much loved mother of Niall, Caroline, Barry, David, Derek and Sinead. Sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, son-in-law Paul, daughters-in-law Ellen, Annette and Yvonne, adored grandchildren Cian, Kevin, Laura, Shauna, Conor, Kate and Rachel, brothers-in-law Fr. Tony (Brazil), Fr. Austin (USA), Farrell (Roscommon), sister-in-law Adela (Kells), cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends with special mention to her kind and gentle carers. Predeceased by her brothers-in-law Patrick and Vincent and her sister-in-law Maureen (all USA).

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Owing to Government guidelines a private Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11am in The Church of the Holy Family, Askea followed by burial in Bennekerry Cemetery, Carlow.


Nancy SWEENEY Friarstown, Bennekerry, Carlow

The death has occurred of Nancy SWEENEY, Friarstown, Bennekerry, Carlow

Nancy passed away peacefully in the loving care of the Management and Staff, Hillview Nursing Home in her 87th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Jim in 2018. Deeply regretted by her son James, daughter Betty, daughter in law Adeline and son in law Clem, grandchildren Clodagh, Gillian, Eoin, James, Jamiee, Rebecca and great grandchild Miya, also her sister Phil (England) her nieces and nephews extended family relatives and friends.

Due to current Government and HSE restrictions a private funeral will take place in St. Marys Church, Bennekerry at 11 a.m. on Sunday, 25th October, with burial immediately afterwards in adjoining cemetery. (MAX 25 People)


Jimmy Hutton of Busherstown, Bennekerry

Jimmy Hutton of Busherstown, Bennekerry and formerly of St. Mary’s Park, Carlow, passed away, on October 20th, 2020, at Naas General Hospital, Kildare.

Beloved husband of Betty, much loved father of Patrick, Bryan, Niall, Josephine and Brendan and cherished brother of Paddy, Kathleen, Bill, Mary and the late Joe.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law Nigel, daughters-in-law Janet and Francesca, Brendan’s partner Emily, Niall’s partner Gabi, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Due to government advice regarding public gatherings a private funeral will take place for family in The Holy Family Church, Askea, on Saturday at 11am and will be followed by burial in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

Carmel Nolan (nee Meaney), “Shalom”, Chaplestown, Carlow and formerly of Leighlinbridge, passed away peacefully on October 7th, 2020. Predeceased by her brothers & sisters Nan, Ned, Tom, Tim, Ber, Peig, Sr. Mary Joseph & Fr. Joe.

Carmel, adored wife of Paddy and adored mother of Padraig, Fergal, Aisling & Mark. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken family, son-in-law J.J., daughters-in-law Monica & Teresa, grandchildren Saoirse, Padraic, Shane, Niamh, Ali, Mia, Zac, Millie & Ollie, sisters Theresa & Jenny, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours & her many friends.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dhilis

Reposing at her home on Friday from 4pm, concluding with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning to arrive at the Holy Family Church, Askea for 12 noon Requiem Mass, followed by burial in Bennekerry Cemetery. (via her home and Kearnstown).

Laurence (Lar) DOYLE

Laurence (Lar) Doyle died October 4th 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Anne and his sister Angeline. Sadly missed by his brother Peader, sister Noeleen, son Jason, brothers-in-law Liam Dowling and Christopher Haughney, nephews Declan and William, nieces Michelle, Aisling and Charmaine, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11am for family and close friends in The Church of the Holy Family, Askea followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.
