Lucy BYRNE (née Bergin) 30 Hillview Drive, Rathnapish, Carlow / Portlaoise, Laois

Lucy Byrne, 30 Hillview Drive, Rathnapish Carlow and originally of Meelick, Portlaoise, June 29th 2021 (peacefully) at the District. Hospital. Dearly loved and adored wife of Michael. Sadly missed by her heartbroken husband, sisters Mary and Patricia, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, sister-in-law Mary, relatives and friends.Predeceased by her brothers Seán, Tony and Tom.

Rest in Peace.

Funeral Mass for family (max 50) will be celebrated on Friday, (July 2nd), at 2pm in the Church of the Holy Family, Askea, Carlow followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.


Patrick (Pakie) Doyle of Kennedy Avenue and formerly of 30 St. Killian’s Crescent, Carlow, passed away unexpectedly, on June 20th, 2021, at his home.

Beloved husband of the late Goretta, much loved father of Amy, Jacqueline and Jake and cherished brother of Paul, Olwyn, Christine, Anna, David, Catherine, Grainne and the late Trisha.

He will be sadly missed by his loving son, daughters, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.

Pakie’s Funeral Mass will take place in The Holy Family Church, Askea, on Tuesday at 11am and will be followed by burial in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.


John COYLE The Laurels, Carlow Town, Carlow / Rathgar, Dublin

John Coyle, The Laurels, Tullow Road, Carlow and formerly of Orwell Gardens, Rathgar, Dublin, June 17th 2021 in the care of Hillview Nursing Home, Carlow. Predeceased by his brothers Thomas and Gerard. Sadly missed by his brother Anthony, nephews, nieces, especially his niece Belinda and grand-nephews Alex and Brandon, extended family, relatives and friends.

Ian Amaral (Lawlor), Grange Forde, Old Bennekerry, Bennekerry, Carlow / Portlaoise, Laois

Formerly of Oak Leaf Place, Portlaoise. Beloved husband of Antonio and much loved brother of Gemma, Owen, Paul and Wayne. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken mother Annette, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, dearest friend Sharon, extended family, relatives and friends.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 12 noon in SS Peter & Paul’s Church, Portlaoise. Those wishing to offer their condolences can do so on the page below or send on in the traditional manner. Interment afterwards in SS Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.


Michael ROGERS 32 Ashgrove, Tullow Road, Carlow

Michael Rogers, June 13th 2021 (suddenly) at his home. Predeceased by his father Jimmy. Sadly missed by his loving mother Sheila, sister Julie, nephews Dan and Rory, brother-in-law, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.

Owing to Government guidelines, a private Funeral will be held.

The funeral Mass can viewed from the Askea Parish Website on Wednesday morning (June 16th ) at 11am using the link below. Following Mass a private cremation service will take place.


Henrietta (Etta) BRODERICK (née Comerford) ”Rea Gealaí”, Pollerton Big, Carlow

Henrietta (Etta) Broderick (peacefully) surrounded by her loving family in the gentle care of the Sacred Heart Hospital on June 1st 2021, the 45th anniversary of her dearly missed son Diarmuid. Beloved wife of the late Seán and much loved mother of Henrietta, Mary-Patricia and Seán. Sadly missed by her loving daughters, son, brother John, sister Columba, son-in-law David, daughter-in-law Lorraine, grandchildren Diarmuid, Kevin, Ronan, Alex, Ava and Holly, great-grandchild Isabella, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

The reception into Holy Family Church, Askea can be viewed on Wednesday evening at 7pm and also the funeral Mass on Thursday morning at 11am from the Askea Parish website. Burial will follow afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mary Bridget Larkin (née Fields), New Oak Estate, Carlow Town, Carlow

Late of Luton, Bedfordshire, England. Peacefully in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff at The Sacred Heart Hospital, Carlow, beloved wife of the late Michael and sister of the late Michael, Billy and Tom; sadly missed by her loving daughter Martina, sons Desmond and Gerald, grandchildren, sisters Ann and Bridget, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Mary Rest In Peace

Reposing at McGuill’s Funeral Home, Bennekerry, on Thursday (June 3rd) from 6.00p.m. until 8.00p.m. for family and close friends with prayers at 7.30p.m.

Mary’s funeral will take place in Luton, England at a later date.
