Kathleen Nolan (nee Kealy), formerly of Bagenalstown and Staplestown Road, Carlow, passed away peacefully, on January 29th, 2021, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. Beloved wife of the late Charlie and cherished sister of the late Michael. She will be sadly missed by her loving uncle Tom, sister-in-law, cousins, relatives and friends.

Abina O’Sullivan (née Vaughan) of 34 Oakley Park, Tullow Road, Carlow and formerly of Renanirree, Macroom, Co Cork, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January 29th, 2021, at her home.

Beloved wife of Micheal, much loved mother of Neil, adored grandmother of Eva, Mark and Roisin and cherished sister of Maura (Healy), Charles, Martin and Kathleen (Lane).

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, son, daughter-in-law Tara, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Noel Mahon, Sandhills, Carlow and formerly of Downpatrick Road and Orwell Park, Dublin, died January 25th 2021, peacefully in the loving care of Hillview Nursing Home, Carlow. Sadly missed by his loving wife Patricia, sons Gerard, Michael and Derek, daughter Jennifer, daughters-in-law Regina and Kalen, son-in-law Daire, grandchildren, sisters Peggy, Eithne, Lily, Monica, Bernie and Cissy, extended family, relatives and friends.

Breda WALKER (née Nolan) 57 Mount Leinster Park, Carlow Town, Carlow

Breda Walker (née Nolan) of 57 Mount Leinster Park and formerly of St. Mary’s Park, Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January 25th, 2021, at her home.

Beloved wife of the late John and much loved mother of Patrick, John, Ger, David, Stephen, Thomas, Clare, Martina, Helena, Margarita, Sharon, Denise, Sadie, Enda, Sinead and the late Angela and baby Eddie.

She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, her 42 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers, sister, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The death has occurred of  Mary (Maura) Nolan (née O’Neill), Kernanstown, Bennekerry, Carlow.

Peacefully in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff at The Sacred Heart Hospital, Carlow; beloved wife of the late Jimmy, grandmother of the late Jonathan, and great-grandmother of the late Chloe and baby Cora, much loved mother of Carmel, P.J. Lylah, Martin, Ann, James and Thomas. Maura will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Eilish HAYDEN (née Townsend) Ballinacarrig, Tinryland, Carlow / Leighlinbridge, Carlow

Elizabeth (Eilish) Hayden, nee Townsend, Ballinacarrig, Tinryland, Carlow and formerly of Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow, January 19th 2021 (peacefully) at home surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Ambrose, sister Maureen, brothers Tom, Jim and Sean. Much loved mother of Edmond, Caitriona, Ruth, Ambrose and Joyce. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, sister Renee, daughters-in-law Ann and Eve, sons-in-law Syl, Jim and Ben, her adored grandchildren Syl, David, Kate, Aoife, Roisin, Laura, Finola, Sinéad, Aideen, Sean, James, Joe, Cliodhna, Sam, Martha and Finn, brother-in-law Frank, sisters-in-law Olive, Mary, Delia and the recently deceased Kitty and Barbara, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.


Michael Patrick Hayden JKL Avenue, Carlow Town, Carlow

Michael Patrick Hayden late of 144 JKL Avenue, Carlow and 55 Eden Street, Coventry, died suddenly on 16th January 2021, surrounded by his loving wife Helen (née Fox), son Laurence and daughter Mary; brother of the late Frank and sister Breda; Sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughter, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May Michael rest in peace.

Michael’s funeral will take place at a later date in Coventry.


William (Bill) HUTTON New Oak Estate, Carlow

William (Bill) Hutton of 158 New Oak Estate, Carlow and formerly of Dereen Heights, Tullow Road, Carlow, passed away peacefully, on January 16th, 2021, in St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved husband of the late Ann, much loved father of Larry, Patrick, David, Julie, Joseph and the late Linda, adored grandfather of Stephanie, David, Dean and Daniel and cherished brother of Paddy, Kathleen, Mary and the late Jimmy and Joe.

He will be sadly missed by his loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Sharon, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Jim Townsend, Ballybar Upper, Tinryland, Carlow, passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2021, in St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved husband of the late Lilly, loving father of Ollie, Caroline, Barbara and Clem, adored grandfather of Shannen, Ciara, Danni, Daryl, Katie, Faye and Sam and cherished brother of Martin, Dennis, Eamon, Mary and the late Paddy.

He will be sadly missed by his loving family, Ollie and Anne, Caroline, Barbara and Michael, Clem and Olivia, grandchildren, brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May Jim’s Gentle Soul Rest in Peace

Due to continued restrictions on public gatherings, Jim’s funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of his family on Saturday at 11am in St. Joseph’s Church, Tinryland and will be followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.


Paudge CURTIS Tinryland, Carlow / Wexford

Paudge Curtis died January 4th 2021 suddenly at his home. Formerly of Raheen, Co. Wexford. Beloved husband of Brigid and much loved father of Mary, Paraic, David, Declan, Elaine, Claire, Barry, Sean and Laura. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, brothers Mogue and Harry, sister Sr. Goretti, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, his 13 adored grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his sister Sr. Elizabeth.

May Paudge Rest in Peace.

Owing to Government guidelines a private funeral Mass will take place in St. Joseph’s Church, Tinryland, (max 10) followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
