The death has occurred of Michael (Mick) PHELAN, 18 Springdale, Tullow Road, Carlow

Mick Phelan died at the District Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Mary and much loved father of Anna, Karen, Michelle, Sinéad, Stephen, Catriona, Martin and the late Michael. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, their partners, sons-in-law, brother Martin, sisters Mary and Bridget (predeceased by his brother Patrick), brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, 7 grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at his home from 4pm on Saturday concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Sunday to the Church of the Holy Family, Askea to arrive for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Family flowers only, please, donations in lieu to the Friends of the District Hospital.

House private on Sunday morning please.


Tom MURPHY, 2 Dolmen Gardens, Pollerton Road, Carlow

The death has occurred of Tom MURPHY, 2 Dolmen Gardens, Pollerton Road, Carlow

Tom Murphy, died at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. Beloved partner of Bridget. Sadly missed by his partner, sons Richard and Sean, daughter Clare, Bridget’s daughters Elizabeth, Holly and Donna, brothers Jack, Joe and Bill, sister Mary, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, extended family, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at his home from 12 noon on Tuesday with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning at 10.30am to the Church of the Holy Family, Askea to arrive for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family flowers only, please, donations in lieu to the Dialysis Unit, University Hospital, Waterford.


Tadg QUILL Brownshill Road, Carlow Town, Carlow / Mallow, Cork

The death has occurred of Tadg QUILL Brownshill Road, Carlow Town, Carlow / Mallow, Cork

Tadg Quill, Carlow, Mallow and formerly of Irish Sugar died June 2nd 2018, unexpectedly. Loving husband and best friend of Mary (nee Crean) and much loved father of Eleanor, John, Tadg, Barry and Donal. He will be forever loved by his wife, daughter, sons, son-in-law Danny Buckley, daughters-in-law Una, Paula and Anna, brother Donal, brother-in-law Brian, grandchildren Alan, Darren, Christopher, Colm, Ian, Lauren, Ben, Jack, Ryan, Tadg Óg  Molly , nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

May he Rest in Peace.

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm. Reception into St. Mary’s Church, Mallow on Wednesday at 2pm followed by Requiem Mass at 2.30pm. Burial afterwards in St. Gobnait’s Cemetery, Mallow.

Michael BEGLEY, 8 Donn Ór, Brownshill Road, Carlow

Michael Begley of 8 Donn Ór, Brownshill Road and formerly of McGamhna Road, Carlow passed away peacefully on June 1st, 2018, at Hillview Nursing Home, Tullow Road, Carlow.

Beloved brother of Sean, Mary and the late Barney and Ellen.

He will be sadly missed by his loving brother, sister, brother-in-law Sammy, sister-in-law Kathleen, nephews, nieces, especially Elaine, relatives, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros. Funeral Home, Barrack St., Carlow from 12 noon on Saturday with Prayers at 8p.m. Removal on Sunday at 11.30am to The Holy Family Church, Askea, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Hillview Nursing Home, Carlow.
